The waytoplay road is flat. Until now.

Arches is waytoplay's newest addition — a set of modular arch-shaped pieces that click together and transform a flat road layout into a three-dimensional play world. Two arches side by side become a tunnel. A row of them becomes an overpass. Stack them differently and you have a tower, a ramp, a bridge, an animal shape, a goal post, a portal into whatever story your child is telling today.

The click system is the thing that makes it work. Each arch connects on both its short and long ends with a firm, audible click — the kind that tells a child immediately whether their build is holding or needs adjustment. Structures stay connected while they're being built upon, which means fewer collapses and more of that satisfying "keep going" momentum that sustains a play session.

On its own, it's a pure construction toy. Paired with a waytoplay road set, it turns a flat circuit into a landscape — cars go through tunnels, over bridges, around bumps. The road that was familiar yesterday suddenly has new problems to solve.

Each arch piece is approximately 12cm long and comes in three colours: yellow (the accent), dark green, and mint grey — a palette that sits calmly alongside wooden toys without competing.

Made from 100% recycled ABS plastic in Bosnia Herzegovina from materials sourced in the Netherlands. Built to last. CE marked, EN71 compliant.

Choosing your set:

Starter (18 pieces) — 2 yellow, 8 dark green, 8 mint grey. Enough to build a tunnel, a bridge, and a few experiments. The right entry point for a child who is new to Arches, or for adding to an existing waytoplay road without going all in.

Creator (36 pieces) — 4 yellow, 16 dark green, 16 mint grey. The most popular size. Enough to build something genuinely complex — layered bridges, winding tunnels, mixed structures — without the setup feeling like a project.

Builder (54 pieces) — 6 yellow, 24 dark green, 24 mint grey. For children who build seriously and want the full range of possibility. This is also the set for families who want Arches to carry weight as a standalone construction toy, independent of the roads.

All sets are compatible with each other and with all waytoplay road sets.

Note: Small colour variations between pieces are normal and come from the recycled material process — no two sets are exactly the same.

Pairs best with: Waytoplay Expressway, Highway, or King of the Road. Works well alongside GRIMM'S blocks and Ostheimer figures for small world building.
