GRIMM’S Spiel und Holz Design is a family driven and sustainably managed manufacturer, producing safe and high quality toys at the foot of the Swabian Alb in Germany since 1978.
The headquarters staff in Hochdorf, Germany does all the designwork, the surface finish and treatment, assembly, quality control, packing and shipping worldwide.
Open-ended Play
From the design point of view, we make sure to keep the playing possibilities as open as possible, so that creativity is not restricted, and can develop in new directions.
Committed to both Montessori and Waldorf pedagogy, their intent is to design toys, whose simple and reduced design together with beautiful coloring and inviting surface feel are well suited for all ages – products that are played with over and over again. With children's progressive development and unrestricted creativity, Grimm's toys will be permanent companions throughout childhood.
Made by Nature
Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations are proof of quality, not defects.
Certifications
They are certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 quality standardas well as the FSCTM standard. All colors and oils they use are certified in accordance with the EN 71 and CPSIA/ASTM F963 standards. Since August 2015, Grimm's has been certified according to FSC standards - a recognition of use of sustainable forestry in the making of their toys.

1. The next Grimm’s restock is on its way, set to arrive End June/Early July 2020. This includes pre-orders made at End-February 2020.
